Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
(Colossians 3:12–14 NIV)
Clothes aren’t naturally a part of us; we put them on to avoid shame and make ourselves presentable. Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love might not naturally be part of us, but as God’s holy people, we are called to adorn ourselves with them as we engage the world around us.
ACTION: Is there someone you need to forgive? Forgive them, just as God has forgiven you.
