Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
(James 2:5 NIV)
The poor might be despised in the eyes of the world, but not in the eyes of God, who looks past outward appearances and sees the heart (1 Sam. 16:7). He shows no favoritism based on our status on earth.
ACTION: Pray. “Lord, help me be mindful that I have brothers and sisters in You, all over the world. We may not inhabit the same circles now, but we will be united in Your kingdom, thanks to Your love and grace. I lift them all up to You, in Jesus’ name.”
