But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
(Exodus 3:11 NIV)
Moses had once been a prince in Egypt, but after becoming a murderer and a fugitive, he became a shepherd—a vocation detestable to the Egyptians (Gen. 46:34).
Imagine Moses’ astonishment when, after 40 years of being a lowly shepherd, God called him to be a leader.
Moses’ history didn’t disqualify him from serving God. On the contrary, it prepared him for what God was calling him to do.
ACTION: Reflect. How has your past prepared you for what God calls you to today?
